Let your gardening experience be fun. Include your children and grandchildren while creating an charming back yard. By adding statues and/or figurines that are whimsical you will be creating a delightful experience for young and old alike.
Adding beauty to your garden decor can be done several ways, and it will be probably be different for each of us. You can add plants, trees, objects, water features. Beauty is indeed “in the eye of the beholder”. (and the pocketbook)!
Look down the road and see the “big picture” maybe you can transform your yard/garden slowly, especially if you have limited resources. Add a few flowering plants or bushes this year and you’ll be able to see the beauty begin, with birds, butterflies and blooms, then next year maybe you can add a statue or water feature. This can be repeated year after year until you have created your “masterpiece”.
This spring while working in my back yard and seeing all the tulips and daffodils coming up, I’ve decided to change my decor in one area. We are fortunate to have a good sized yard in the back, so we can actually make it look like we are entering another room as we move about the garden.
I think I would like to add a windmill and some Dutch kids, do you think it will look okay?
Well the warmer weather is just around the corner!! We have had some nice days then the cold returns again, but, we know it will not last. Now is the time to get things in order. I hope you have already cleaned and bleached your planters and pots.
It’s still a little early to put those plants outside, but you could put the smaller statues that you brought in outside. And even some of the furniture. Once the weather warms and you’re working in the yard, you’ll want a place to sit down.
Sometimes just little things can change the look and feel of your backyard. The flowers, bushes and trees add beauty. The can also add food and refuge to the birds and other critters in your area.
How about “tucking” in a sculpture or statue here or there. How much fun would that be?
With the use of statues you can add a flair of whimsy or have a more formal garden. It of course depends on the statues that you choose.
Today you can get statues made of polyresin with are very light weight or pick the tradional concrete , brass or copper structures. I’ve even seen wood structures, though I’m not sure how they hold up. Anyone that has experience with this, comments are appreciated.
Before you enter your home, you see the garden. By creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere in your garden, you are creating a welcoming introduction to your home. Not only that – there are times when you just want to spend time entertaining or relaxing in your garden, so it’s fun to keep it pleasing. In choosing home and garden decor, you need to havean idea of what you want and what style you are looking for. One way of determining which décor to buy is by setting a theme to your garden. Think about what you would like your garden to look like – what accessories you would like to see, and what plants and trees you’d like to add. Here are some of the theme ideas that you can incorporate with your home and garden décor: butterfly, temple, sundial, Japanese, winter, animals, children, rustic and jungle, just to name a few. After you choose your theme, you can now make a list of products that are wonderful items to compliment your home garden. Some of these items can be flowers and flowerpots, planter pots, birdhouses, fountains, wind chimes, garden shelves, incense, garden angels, plant stands, flower vases, and statues. Decorating your home and garden can be very challenging and you have to use your aesthetic ability to come up with a truly pleasing home garden. But before you make any purchase, see to it that your home and garden décor items will be good together so that you will not waste money, time, and effort.
Many statues or sculptures serve dual or even triple purposes. If you are decorating a small backyard, you may want to consider these features. Fewer objects rather than more will keep the area from looking cluttered and still give you what you are looking for.
When designing you’re backyard garden you could choose a theme. That is to use several pieces of art together.
As an example you might choose a Southwestern or Native American theme and use a variety of different statues, plants, etc. Wouldn’t this statue be great?
Your backyard and gardens are great places to relax after a hard day. Choose décor that suits your tastes. You are the artist and your garden and backyard is your canvas.
Do you enjoy the fun whimsical items (informal) or statues, sundials and obelisks (formal)or do you like birdhouses, wind chimes, animals (semi-formal).Just as you have rooms in your home, you can have rooms or separate areas to define you and your family.
You can choose items for your retreat that reflect your personalities. Make your space comfortable so you can relax and enjoy the time spent there. Have fun decorating.
