Weeds, an interesting thought, to say the least. Did you know that the number one attractor for birds is the number bane of gardeners? Yes it is the weed! The Bur Marigold, Dandelion, Ragweed, Pigweed, Lamb’s quarters, Mulletin, Goldenrod, Dock, and Jewelweed are great for attracting birds. Hummingbirds love the blossom of the Jewelweed and Rose Breasted Grosbeaks feast on the seeds. With a little expert help you can pick and choose which Weeds will be best for your garden.
Many statues or sculptures serve dual or even triple purposes. If you are decorating a small backyard, you may want to consider these features. Fewer objects rather than more will keep the area from looking cluttered and still give you what you are looking for.
As the weather warms, I am reminded of the days spent in the backyard and garden. It’s nice to walk around and enjoy the beautiful plants and the view of the garden. After walking around or after working in the yard, it is nice to have a place to sit. Our children and grandchilden also enjoy sitting in the swings and watching the fish in the Koi pond.
Lanterns are a great addition to a garden. They can line a pathway, add a festive flair or just be placed strategically around the backyard or deck.
These can be themed and used as a focal point, or just blended through out the yard.
