home decor

Have you ever been in the house and startled by a loud crash or thud sound.  Looking around you discover that a bird has flown into you window or patio door.

While on vacation I discovered some cute screen door magnets.  What a difference and a great new way to decorate.

Who could resist moving into this quaint birdhouse. This beautiful handcrafted ceramic birdhouse will complement any garden or porch.

It is so cute you may not want to put it outside for the birds.  In that case it would be great to use as home decor.

I love the sound of running water.  One of my favorite fountains is the Prosperity Fountain, symbolizing wealth and fertility.

Today fountains are easily attainable, so just about everyone can own one.  They are easy to maintain, and many are self contained (meaning they don’t need to be plumbed).

wall plaques

While decorating your backyard, don’t forget your walls, you know, the side of the house of the deck, the side of the garage, or shed.

These are great places to put a wall plaque.

birdfeeders

Boy is it cold outside.  Many of our featured friends fly south for the winter.  Yet some do stay behind.  Food is often scarce in the winter. Why not give them a little help?  A birdfeeder placed stategicly would be wonderful for them.

We have always enjoyed watching the birds while they eat, bathe and play.  It is so relaxing.

Perhaps you would like to have a water feature in your backyard, but you feel like your yard is too small.

A wall fountain could be your answer.  You don’t need to plumb it, but it whould be near electric to plug it in.  Just add water and your pump will recirculate it.

When designing you’re backyard garden you could choose a theme.  That is to use several pieces of art together.

As an example you might choose a Southwestern or Native American theme and use a variety of different statues, plants, etc.  Wouldn’t this statue be great?

Fence Toppers

Whether you choose to have a formal, semi-formal or informal backyard may take a little thought.  Have fun when you design it.

Let your theme reflect your personality and /or lifestyle. How much fun would it be to see a cat perched atop your fence?

charming birdhouses

With the nation growing and building as it has more natural habitat for the birds is diminishing.  It gets harder and harder for the birds to find shelter and food.

Have you ever thought about putting up birdhouses or birdfeeders?  There are many available.  Some that are available are decorative, wood, metal, natural. Some are charming, whimsical and fun.  But all will provide shelter for the little travelers.

Dream Catchers

dream catchers

Dream catchers have always appealed to me, as I’m sure they have to many.  I have had a few of them before ever knowing the history or story behind them.

It is said that if you hang the dream catchers above the bed of a child bad dreams will be caught in the web and only good dreams will filter through.
