When looking on a web search for green birdhouses all I could find were paper houses. I like the birdhouses made out of recycled barn wood for several reasons.
There are so many birds today looking for a nesting place, so along the creek line I like to put up several bird houses a year and it is a very overgrown area. To be able to get back and clean these often is very time consuming. What would happen if I never got back to these houses?
Placing birdhouses made of recycled wood along the creek, they will last because of the weathered wood and also over an extended period of time they will deterioate back into the ground to help the soil unlike many metal or modern houses with a varnish or stain.
In todays world, I think we all have a collection of something. Some people collect plates, state spoons, the new 50 states quarters and many more items then one can image.
I know for years everyone would by my mother any item which had a cardinal on it. She received cardinals for any and all gift occasion and every gift giving occasion. It got to the point she told me she was tired of cardinals and wished she could get other gifts.
Myself I collect tigers, have a room full of them and I am starting to collect different figurines to place in my backyard to enjoy. Frogs, cranes, turtles, boy and girl statues you can collect a lot of one item or some of all.
Whatever your choice, try including figurines you can updated your garden decor where everyone can see and enjoy when relaxing in your backyard paradise.

Close your eyes ——— envision sitting with your friends on your patio with a small fire going in the granite fire pit table. Enjoying the conversation and quality time that is so hard to come by with our busy schedules. You sit back relax and you can see your wall fountain with the accent lights making it glisten and hear the soothing sound of the water from your wall fountain among the chatter and laughter of people enjoying the evening.
Then when they are leaving after this special evening, they are so envious of what you have done to your backyard that they start asking for advice from you to improve their own little slice of paradise.

Wrens are small birds that feed on insects and vegetable matter. They are passerine birds, meaning they are perching birds or song birds. Although they are tiny birds, it has a very loud voice. Most wrens are non-migratory although there are a few that migrate to a warmer climate area. They are commonly seen in backyards all over the country.
Wrens are pretty active birds. It is usually the male wren that builds nests and lets the female wren choose which one she likes best. They are regular visitors to wren bird houses and can be found all year round.

Due to changes in the environment and destruction to the environment brought about by man’s negligence, birds cannot rely on nature alone for their survival. Gone are the days when trees abound in every city and neighborhood. Our land has been replaced by concrete buildings and skyscrapers. The birds have nowhere to go especially when they travel from one location to another.
Hanging wooden birdhouses outdoors can help our avian friends. A birdhouse can keep them safe from the cold or hot weather. It can also protect the birds from predators. Wood is the best material for a birdhouse because it does not trap heat unlike metal.
